Family Law Paralegal
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a paralegal to join our talented team who is well organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable with the willingness and ability to learn and implement a defined prioritization system. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal and can assist with case planning, development, management, legal research, drafting legal documents, and collecting and compiling information. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the following areas of law:
- Family law (Managing the caseload from intake through case closure),
- Wills, Trusts, and the probate court system.
Responsibilities:
- Client appointment scheduling and intake
- Preparing petitions
- Interacting with clients
- Investigating income, lifestyles, and other factors
- Compiling witnesses
- Research and legal writing
- Support with drafting Wills, Trusts, and other Estate Planning and probate forms,
- Effectively organizing and maintaining client files on a case management system
- Monitor and maintain calendar deadlines.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of job experience as a paralegal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Clio (or other case management systems), and Adobe PDF.
- Skilled at meeting strict deadlines under significant time pressure.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various types of clients.
- Fast thinker/quick learner.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively and independently, and balance conflicting priorities.
